1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups cake flour

1 tblsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

8 tbl unsalted butter (1 stick), cut into 1/2 inch pieces and softened

4 tbl vegetable shortening cut into 1/2 inch pieces

2. Grease 9-inch cake pan.

3. Combine flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in large bowl (all dry ingredients).

4. Rub butter and shortening into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.

5. Stir in buttermilk until combined.

6. Use a greased 1/2 measure to transfer 6 heaping portions of dough into prepared pan, placing 5 around the pan’s perimeter and 1 in center (see photo 3 below).

7. Bake biscuits until puffed and golden brown. 20 to 25 minutes.

8. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Prepare to be shocked — I liked the biscuits more than the mac and cheese! SO GOOD AND SO EASY and tastes NOTHING like a cat head.
